I went for a walk this evening, scouting out the twisting little road that runs by our house and accompanying me was our neighbors cat, Mrs. Brown. She has been my constant companion since I arrived back in the village of Gostilitsa and as we walked and she did her chatty cat talk; the wind kicked up and rustled the fallen leaves about us. Mrs. Brown scampered ahead of me with what I can only assume was a “hurry before the
leaves get us,” meowed in my direction. I didn’t hurry, which earned me a snarky little cat glance, but just for the briefest of moments it felt Autumnal and I realized just how much I have missed my favorite season while living in India the past few years.
